Classification and Authoring

The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) is an internationally agreed-upon set of recommendations for the classification and labeling of chemicals. Countries may adopt all or some of the building blocks described by GHS, creating a nuanced regulatory environment.

Our team of experienced industrial chemical professionals uses a core dataset to develop GHS classifications for pure substances and mixtures in countries around the globe.

Our classification and authoring services include

  • Identifying, evaluating, and summarizing relevant toxicological data;
  • Providing scientifically thorough and transparent justification for classifications;
  • Classifying pure substances and complex mixtures according to the Purple Book, US OSHA HazCom 2012, EU CLP, and other regulatory jurisdictions worldwide;
  • Authoring SDSs and labels for pure substances and complex mixtures for US and other regions worldwide; and
  • Entering data into internal intelligent authoring systems (e.g., SAP EH&S) or internal databases.
